I don't believe that you are supposed to quote like that, although I could be wrong.

Why is it we let other countries buy our land here, when we can´t buy any of their land in return?
Doesn't it seem odd to you that we have sold a lot of land to Japan, and now the Chinese are coming in and buying land as well?
I thought that's why they have embassies in our country, to.just buy what their lousy embassy sits on.
The Chinese have always thought of us as slow, and barbaric. With them buying land in our country, we only feed into their stereotype of dumb Americans.
I don´t understand why someone with half a brain wouldn't say no to this crap?!?
It makes me.jumping mad.that these foreign countries, and corporations come here and buy land that shoukd be going to an.American!

Agreed - what horseshit is going on here? If some obscure company shows up in the county and wants to buy 100,000 acres - one would think that the local politician or media or state would wanna know a little more about them and their intentions. With all the nefarious bullshit China is pulling all over the US - I have zero trust in the intentions with that land.

Let 'em buy it! They just made some Americans rich, and if it they don't watch their behavior, we'll just nationalize it and take it back. Then we can re-sell it and make even more money.

Generally foreign investment is awesome for the local economy. Big injections of cash, and the foreigners still need to do something with whatever they just bought -- build something, for example. Well, that requires American workers and supplies and American government permits and using American ports to ship in whatever from back home and etc, etc, etc. So buying some land is just the tip of the iceberg -- it often means much, much more money incoming.

And all that activity makes it look more attractive to other foreign investors. Now the Russians & Japanese & etc think, "Why are the Chinese investing in Texas? What do they know and should we get on that train?" and sometimes it can really blossom.

Here's the Executive Order on Hong Kong issued yesterday. Decided to peruse out of curiosity and to folllow up on a tweet from the founder of 8Kun and found this little gem:

Sec. 4. All property and interests in property that are in the United States, that hereafter come within the United States, or that are or hereafter come within the possession or control of any United States person, of the following persons are blocked and may not be transferred, paid, exported, withdrawn, or otherwise dealt in:

My question remains: why this parcel in Texas? Oil, ag, operational space within the US...

    EDIT: Looks like Minerals.

The Chinese don´t deserve to buy land in our country! Period!
Not to mention, White Sands National Testing site isn't that far away from there. So, they'll probably end up having more espionage going on there as well, from our "good" friends, the Chinese.
Plus, there are 3 Air Force bases not that far away, either, so I´m sure they'll be keeping tabs on those as well.
Didn't anyone else see that the Chinese are trying to devalue our currency even in our own country?!? They got caught shipping pallets full of fake $100 bills into our western ports.
So, Uncle Joe Biden, are the Chinese really harmless to our country?!?
And another thing, someone else already hit upon our southern borders being a soft spot in National.Security. Well, guess what, the Chinese are exploiting holes as we speak about their agents exploiting known holes in our border security.
It's crazy to think that by them buying "useless" land, that they aren't up to something illegal.
I say, when we're able to buy land in China, then they can buy land here in our country. But with the stipulation.that they are vetted, and thouroughly investigated before hand. And if it seems alright, then ok. But until then, I say no to them, or any other country buying land here.
If you think that China is benevelent, then guess who funnels a high part of their money to Iran, and.North Korea, to give us headaches? That would be CHINA!
    Any who...
