Now that it's a level playing field, hopefully we LGSs can earn your business....

    ...Evolve or die.

One of the biggest reasons I think folks often hesitate to shop at local guns stores is the attitude of the gun store personnel that gets shoved in the customer's face by the owners and their employees and they definitely do not earn business or respect with their attitudes. Way too many are arrogant know-it-alls who are only trying to get over and make a sale no matter what. Nothing personal there; not making any judgment of you, just telling it like it is as to why many folks prefer not to go to a small gun shop. Their bad experiences with some local small time dealers keep them away from trying other small gun shops.

There is a surprisingly small amount of gun shops near me (around Texarkana); heck where I lived in Nassau County, NY they seemed more abundant although that could just be because I knew of most of them and still am fairly new to this area. Anyway, I've been to a few places around me since I moved here that sell used and new guns and have dealt with dealers at gun shows, dealers in pawn shops, ones in sporting goods stores, and in a couple of outright gun stores around here. Too many local dealers I have encountered here, just like elsewhere, have fit the description that other folks and I like to avoid - not necessarily with me but often with other customers I have observed trying to buy a gun. When I see them being arsehats, I just turn around and leave the store or the dealer's table.

One place, Legendary Firearms (aka: Legendary Shooting Sports) does not fit that mold and everyone has been very professional and courteous and I think I will give your ideas from your earlier post, the one prior to the one I quoted, a try there to see if they can match or do better than online prices when I next decide to buy another new gun. That may be awhile as most I have bought lately are older used guns but a new one will be had sooner or later.

    Thanks for that advice.

By the way, I forgot to post their info in my last post in this thread:

I've done three transfers and took my LTC class at Central Texas Gun Works in South Austin and have always had good experiences. Plus, none of the staff I've dealt with have attitudes like folks have mentioned about other LGSs. FFL transfer is $20 with a LTC, $25 without, and they make the process pretty easy because their transfer form can be filled out online.

Nathan has been amazing. I asked so many dumbass questions and he always responded quickly and was very helpful. He has always been available when I wanted to pickup one of my transfers and prices are great. Best customer service I have had in a long time from any type of business.

Just bought a Glock 44 last week and used Saddle Rock Armory this time around. $25 and all went friendly and smooth. During normal times I was using Central Texas Gun Works down South as work was down there and they are only $20 for me. Nice to have someone right around the corner from home to use too!

Ima going to start using them too. Am in Brushy Creek myself.
I bought a Ruger Super Blackhawk from them not long after they opened in the little building next door. Nice folks.

Looks like their inventory is a bit slim recently.

Haven't read all 18 pages here, but I've had a few transfers done by Weg's up in Addison. Tough to beat $10 and the guys are really nice - decent selection at their brick and mortal location as well.
