The whole "unifying behind your party" is failed logic. Hear me out on this one.

First off, it leads to a system of unified control which history has taught us is responsible for the falling of empires. Find me ONE system where being completely unified behind the centralized system of power has worked. Okay, so we're clear on this point then, yes?

Next, it limits (at best) the ability to compare, contrast, and improve on any process. Our forefathers were smart enough to try and separate the powers in the governing body to limit just what people today are trying their damnedest to unravel. Disagreement is at the CORE of any advancement. Failure is a critical component of success. This concept of "I'll elect who I agree with and rally behind him/her/they/them/it/attack helicopter" is foolish. This isn't football, we aren't cheering for our team to win just for the sake of winning. We're electing people and demanding they make decisions in our best interests without any direction. Isn't that the antithesis of a representative republic? We're supposed to directing our representatives, not the other way around.

No offense is intended but you've been here 5 minutes. You're still waiting on your first handgun. You might need to pump the brakes a bit.

There are a lot of damn good people here who will give you the shirt off their back if you are in need.

Don't confuse our bickering with true fighting. Sure there are some people that don't actually like each other but that's anywhere.

I've been on internet forums/groups since....well crap it's been a long time. 25 years or so. This group is nothing different when it comes to that. If anything, we're tighter knit than a lot of other communities.

There aren't many where I can say I've met up with other members in person but I have with several here.

I'm not really sure what you're trying to accomplish with this post other than get folks riled up.

To be fair, I disagree with everybody! "Seems" to me that when we get new posters, the "disagreement factor" goes up. New folks (not all) get on here and immediately begin complaining about the way members should respond. My theory is, ..... if a new member of the forum starts complaining about the forum ........ well, one can leave as quickly as one can stay. Y'all have a glorious day!
I'm laughing... Old Guard complaining cause fresh eyes see what they've accepted. "Go away son... ya' bother me." Yeah that'll work

    Ok. I’ll bite.
Just what, exactly, are we supposed to unite against?
How am I to do that?
If I rage it doesn’t accomplish shit.
If I literally fix bayonets the moment I walk out of the house I’ll get: pick one.
1.) laughed at, Ridiculed, and doxed.
    2.) killed by the police.
3.) Actually manage to skewer a commie bastard. Then I get to spend my life in jail losing everything I’ve spent my life earning. Family goes homeless.

I made a post about TGT imitating life. Seems everyone took it personal. What I was pointing out was the disagreement/discord in general. I wasn't criticizing TGT or TGT members, though a lot of them seem to have gotten their collective panties in a wad. The point was/is: Look at the Republican congress lotta folks up there pulling in different directions no unity at all. Then contrast that with the Democrat congress... if anyone can't see the unity there... I didn't say good or bad I said the conservative/right is in disarray - in so many words.

And for it to be suggested that the democrats/liberal/radical left are not in agreement, if not lockstep agreement:

Please direct me to the link(s) that:

Shows Nancy Peloci saying she'd sincerely like to set down with President Trump and work out solutions to the problems facing America.

    or
Video/audio of Chuck Shumer stating that he really, really, wants to set down with Mitch McConnel and address the issues so that can present some legislation to get in front of President Trump.

    or

Ndaler putting out a statement saying he's suddely discovered that Trump is actually innocent of all the things he thought he was.

    Or

The squad saying "America is the greatest country in the world - I must of missed that video.

    Or...
Do I really need to continue?

Most importantly they are well financed. And it's pretty easy to stick to an agenda that basically paints everyone but them as being racist. The message is simple and has worked for decades.

    Don't disagree...

What do folks like us generally do?
    1. We vote
    2. We encourage others to vote
    3. Some of engage others in discussions trying to help the liberals see sense
    4. Some of us contribute financially to the best available candidate
    5. Some of us call/email government officials
In all seriousness, what else can we do?

Take to the street in protests is one thing. We conservatives tend not to do this. Why? Working. Things to do. Too lazy.

What else should we be doing, Doug? I am genuinely interested in other ideas.

I think too many of us (myself included) complain, take some measures, but we really may not be fighting this slide down the slippery slope as much as we could.

The point of the post, which seems to have been totally lost, is that the Conservative/Right party is in disarray. That's all. I have no solution. Just the observation.

    I’ve only one vote OP.
So far the spineless bastard politicians I despise the least seem to be wearing the elephant.
Really what else can I do?
Protest in the street? All that does is piss off other guys like me on their way to a job. You know. The guys who actually pay taxes.
I’m old. My knees are shot. I can’t fight somebody hand to hand anymore.
Bitching on the InterwebZ is just noise.
