Good luck in Court. My experience is if the cop is a no show you get off, happened once to me. I was in BFE Nevada going 70+ back in the double nickel days. Anyway cop pulls me over writes out ticket. I get the court date and schedule work in the area. Since I had a CA DL and it was in Elko, NV I guess cop never figured I would show. No cop, no fine you are good to go.
I have heard that if you want a better chance of no show, change the court date. The initial court date is set at a time the officer knows he should normally be able to make the appearance.

Changing the date, you stand a chance of it being scheduled when the officer has a conflict.

It is a rare JP that will dismiss a speeding ticket.

Knew a very intelligent fellow who got a ticket. He worked through an elaborate defense and was prepared to present it to the JP. Went to the JP's office at the appointed time. Exchanged greetings with the JP. Started to pull a chair up to the JP's desk. The JP growled at him "Don't rearrange the furniture, son. You aren't going to be here that long."

    You can guess the outcome.

Thanks for this. I really need to get some cameras. How difficult was it to install?

Buy the equipment at Best Buy and it's free, or $50 if you purchase it elsewhere. I travel a lot for work, and have been using dash cams for several years. I always just plugged them into the cigarette lighter and suction cupped to the windshield. When I got this truck my wife and kids decided to go with the higher quality camera professionally installed for Father's Day. Now I'm thinking I should have done it years ago. They're tucked up into the headliner with no wires showing and don't fall down when I hit a hard bump. They also aren't visible from the outside so I don't have to worry about someone stealing them while I'm staying in some flea bag hotel on the bad side of town. I never think about the camera at all until I need to pull video, and I do that from my phone instead of pulling out the microSD card. The camera and install worked so well, my daughter decided that was what she wanted for her birthday. Now my oldest son who is currently using my old dash cam, has camera envy and wants the same thing in his Avalanche for his birthday.

Did that once with a stereo... total hack job.
Several years ago when my oldest had just got his driver’s license we had Best Buy in Odessa install a new radio in his truck for his birthday. They estimated a 2 hour job and it was there all day. Then went back the next day to fix the dash lights that didn’t work anymore. Then the following weekend I had to fix the now non-dimmable dash lights. I swore never again would I have them do anything. Luckily the installers at the Abilene Best Buy did a top notch job. Twice.

I always did all of my own auto electronics installs. Yeah, many times it took way longer that paying someone else to do the installation, but I ended up with results that looked better than factory. I also knew it was done properly and the way I wanted it done.
