    The one HiPoint I owned was broken when I got it. Cheap and easy to fix, but I'm not sure how long it stayed fixed...

    Before the current nonsense you could get a SCCY for $180. I'd take that over a HiPoint.
    I once bought a Ruger P89 for $180, too. Still have it... Great gun.

    I bought two HI-points on gun broker I paid < 67 bucks each 1 is a 9mm the other a .380 . The 380 doesnt run worth crap. FTL I think it is the mag. however the 9mm has had no problems so far.
    SO if you are patient you can get one < 100 to experiment with

    Hell, after reading this thread I think if a gun were put to my head and I was forced to choose, I‘d pick a Hi Point over a Taurus any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
