I would like to know the shop as well. I would not avoid it, I would go in and make a comment about hearing the incident on the internet. Hopefully, that would be a realization for these people. I understand privacy, but its a business, and customers should know of the type of business they conduct before making the decision to give them money or not. Maybe, once the owner hears about it, they will change their ways for future business, and make more money.

I think you should tell people the nameof the business

The only loaded weapons allowed in my shop are carry guns and they better be holstered. Mags out bolt/action open when you come through the door.

I'm surprised they didn't kick that guy out of the store.

NO!!!! you are not uptight....that kind of showboating gets people hurt . Years ago i was almost shot point blank in the face with a Beretta Bobcat in a pawn shop because the pawnshop dude was playing around with the stores latest acquisition ,that unbeknownst to him was brought in loaded . if he had "dry "fired a moment sooner i would likely have caught a .25 caliber slug in the face .
it is not uptight to want to be safe , and its not uptight to want to keep others safe . I should also point out that if that kind of negligence continues that obama might have to save us with yet another executive action

Please let the store owner know about this incident. I'm certain he will deal with it appropriately. It's his ass on the line from a liability stand point.

weapons are not toys, they are designed to do one thing well, kill. I would have informed the shop owner, many people each year are killed by doing stupid things with weapons. You play station was designed for playing around.

I was looking at a gun, ready to buy it, when they pulled it out of the case. The kid then proceed to dry fire it, at me about 3 times before I grabbed it out of his hand. Scolded him, put the gun back in the case (it was on the sales floor) and walked out the door.

Took some time today to visit a few gun stores and check inventory for kicks.

Went into a local, non-chain gun shop and watched a counter person do something I found pretty stupid and walked out without talking to them or saying anything. Probably the most stupid thing I have ever seen in a gun shop.

The customer in front of me brought in what looked like a Beretta 92 9mm (or clone), could not tell. He wanted to sell or trade it, and told the counter person it was loaded. The customer was holding the gun in a non-threatening manner, kind of like he did not know a lot about guns.

The young man (early 20's) behind the counter took the gun from him and started racking the live rounds from the gun into the air and catching each one (showing off). No, he did not remove the magazine and launch just the chambered one, he wanted to try and catch the entire magazine full as he extracted them into the air over his head, lining them up on the counter after he caught each one in sort of a victory celebration. All the while pointing the gun down the length of the counter where the other employees were working and ambivalent to his behavior. He was smart enough to index his finger, however I could not tell if the pistol had been placed on safe or not (not that I would find that an acceptable excuse for the behavior).

I turned and walked out disgusted at his behavior and the fact that the other adults working in the store said nothing.

Probably should have stayed and chewed his ass out in front of everyone, instead just left............

I don't think I am a prude when it comes to this stuff, but damn!

    (rant over....................)

What a bonehead! Seems alot us here grew up with, or were taught how to handle a gun correctly. Needs to have his ass handed to him by the manager and booted out the door. Liability, too right. The owner definitely shouldn't stand for that silly and dangerous act! Geez!

Oh Jeez yeah twice in one night. It was slow at work. Didn't remember the thread and saw one of my posts from way back after I replied. Might need to change title from chauvinist to necromancer

No. That he was negligently pointing the obviously loaded gun down at other workers/patrons is a no go

If he had it pointed in a safe directon, and was was just trying to point out to the guy who brought the gun in how stupid it was to bring in a live gun, id say yes, but thats not what you describe

    Eta, wow. 2013.
