    Lots of old shotguns have had their chambers lengthened without over stamping the barrel markings. Some shotguns don't have enough meat on them to safely lengthen them.
    New 2-1/2" shells are readily available from RST for about $12 a box and you can choose from many payloads and shot sizes.
    2-3/4" shotgun cartridges will generate 500+/- psi more when shot out of a 2-1/2" chamber.
    If you reload, dropping 1/8 ounce less lead and 1 grain less powder will lessen the pressure the desired 500 psi.
