Made a run to Walmart and noticed they had bagged and seal persimmons in the fruit section. Having been burned too many times to count with sack apples & oranges I asked a nearby employee if I could try one before buying. Needless to say it was so tasty I bought two bags and had my pocket knife out and stuffing my face. Growing up I spent summers on family farms and ranches am persimmons, apples, peaches, pears, melons and blackberries were abundant. The taste of those persimmons (which my wife referred to as “peculiar”...go figure) sure brought back some memories.

We used to make sure the girls got the green one's so they'd pucker up and talk funny.
