I know this is has been brought up before or at least though of by every responsible gun owner out there, but I just want to put it out there again. For a long time their has always been this ongoing battle with guns and gun control. But these dumb bastards that are for gun control just don't Fu#*ing get it. They think less guns their will be less problems, but they want the less to be for us law abiding citizens. One thing that really ticked me off are some videos I seen of some Californian guys having to use some kind of stick thingy to detach their barely legal 10 round mags for their aks or ars. How the hell is this going to prevent crime, if anything it might actually hurt the guy trying to defend himself trying to reload because it took a damn hour for a mag change.

But lets say something happened, something big. Lets say that a new law came into effect, where every single law abiding citizen who can pass a background check is required to carry a handgun with them and was announced nation wide. I think this would bring the crime rate almost completely down to zero. If criminals knew that every single good guy out there is packing, then I highly doubt they are going to try something. Bad guys:"Small lady, let's jack her, nope, she is packing a 357, look. Old guy easy target, hold on he has a gun, so, hes an old bastard, he won't even have time for reach for it. But every other person around him can."

I think this way, we would have a safer place to live, although never 100% safe, at least we know now we are all equal. Thoughts and opinions. Or Just post your rage, it doesn't matter.

I'm not trying to be a jackass or anything but your logic seems kind of flawed. I'm pretty sure that alot of people that were forced into carrying a firearm may not always carry it, and if they did, they wouldn't always be good at putting it to use, and the criminals will know that. All I know is that the negligent discharge rate would skyrocket lol.

A zero crime rate is impossible. Even getting close is impossible.

It is no more constitutional to require everyone to carry than it is to prohibit folks from carry.

If a criminal wants to rob you and KNOWS you are armed, he can just shoot you in the back of the head and take your stuff. He can point his gun in your face and rob you.

Let those who WANT to carry to do.

I agree, the more guns we carry and the more people carrying them, the less crime will have a chance. The thought of creating a unsafe Texas for criminals to live in is music to my ears. Now that is possible, but 0% no way.
You cant force people to arm themselves. That just wouldnt be right. Giving them the Constitutional Right to choose is all we need to do.

Rifletex, I know know where you are coming from. I partly agree, what would happen if most legal folks carried crime would drop way off. What wouldn't drop is the criminal on criminal crime, that would continuie as it always does. I am from Illinois, near Chicago. Take a look at the demographics there and see who kills who. Luckily the vast majority are criminal on criminal, gangbanger on gangbanger. So yes I do agree with you on a massive drop in crime.

While people say gun laws are meant to prevent violence and whatnot, you can clearly see with their obsession of "evil features" and "evil capabilities" that they want to make owning a gun as much of a nuisance as possible. Not just the groups that try to push these moronic bans, but groups overseas see a "gun culture" as undesirable. I think this is the reason why much of Europe has very restrictive gun laws. They view gun owners as a bunch of uncivilized slobs. Can't have those types of people amongst you when you keep talking out of your well groomed asshole about how much better you are than everyone else.

This uncivilized slob can care less of what they think. I have guns and they don't.

Alot of countries had gun laws in effect well before the past few decades. Germany, for example, enacted strict gun laws following World War I during the Weimar regime as a means of quelling the ability of political groups to arm themselves. Groups like the imperialists, communists, national socialists, and so on and so forth were all vying for power and the government feared civil war. The groups did the next best thing, they recruited top ranking officers from WWI and built large gangs, ie. the Sturmabteilung (SA "Brown Shirts"). These gangs would attack each other and cause chaos for rival parties as a means of gaining support from the public, partially by fear. Hitler used this to springboard himself to the title of Chancellor, after a failed coup of sorts and a short term in prison, which he then used to absolve the democratic government and declare himself Fuhrer (leader).

So even the "best" laid plans will inevitably fail, in either methodology.

    0% Crime rate?

    What's next... world peace?
I did not mean this in it's literal form, but significantly reduced. And I also don't think this law is realistic, in the end I probably even wouldn't agree with it. My over all point is if more people pack heat, responsible people who WANT to carry, and criminals were made aware of this like showing it on the news I think that will make criminals think twice before going out and to trying to take somebodies wallet.

All well and good, but one of the main problems with this line of thinking is that the citizens would now be relied upon, almost as the punishment for people who are dumb enough to commit crimes.
We, citizens (and our politicians, specifically) NEED to work on tougher laws for people that commit crimes.
THIS - not arming every able bodied citizen - needs to be the deterrent that potential criminals would have in mind if they decide to go and break the law.
We have laws that are soft on offenders. They get off with technicalities and plea bargains, or face the laughable "punishment" of going to prison where their "homies" will take care of them while the state and your and my tax dollars give them three hots and a cot!

Yes, anyone who wants to wear a piece should be able to. But it should not be seen as the only potential deterrent to crime.
We need to go after our senators and representatives and hold them responsible for being tough on crime!

Rant over. I relinquish the soapbox.
