Grandparents bought a new F250 in 2009 4x4 with the 6.4 diesel. Empty and with normal driving it would run great. I even drove it and thought it ran strong. The problems always showed up when you tried to haul any kind of weight. Not a fully loaded gooseneck but a regular 20ft bumper pull with some firewood. It would derate going down the road until it stopped moving. Countless times it was towed in to the local Ford stealership to get checked and they could never figure out what was wrong.
Eventually it was traded in for a Chevy dually with a Duramax and never had those problems again.

Ford put 4 engines in the '08 6.4l Powerstroke I had.
First one at 75k miles. Shity rebuild that threw a rod out of the block at about 120k. New crate engine that someone left a loose bolt in the intake manifold that creamed cylinder/ piston #8 2 weeks later.
Sold it before the extended warranty ran out.
You couldn't give me one as I am definitely not alone with having issues with them. It's a flawed design. Even deleted they're still garbage.
