An FYI There is some talk on a couple other forums.

Would any of ya'll go to Washington DC and march for gun ownership?

No date yet. Just very early talk.

Well, what about it? What if, during Congressional debate for any pending legislation, we made ourselves heard and seen in Washington? I don't think the news media could ignore such a story.
What if it's not "a million"? What if it's only, say 600,000? 200,000? It would still have an impact and still make the news.

The Citizen's March on Washington for Gun Rights

    I'd damn well be there.

Is this a march on DC with guns or for guns?

Problem w/ gun owners going is getting off work & the xpense. I cant afford a Vacation like that.

Yeah, thats the problem with being a law abiding, tax paying, welfare supporting citizen, we can not afford to take time off of work to protest for our rights, yet the socialist, welfare, somebody take care of me crowd can do it without a care in the world....:patriot:

    Regional March

There is talk about doing the demonstration regionally, a lighter initial response due to the dollars it will take to go to Washington.

Last time I looked at tickets, you could get a one way to DC for $75, then get the same for a one way return flight. My ex just got back from DC flying in coach for about the same price.

I would march on DC. I would risk alot of shit to make an impact on how our government is going to do business in the coming years. It is time to get active, and drop the defeatist attitudes most people have these days.

Remember, if your precious guns get taken away and you didn't do anything about it, it is your own damn fault.

I'll just hire an illegal alien to go there and march for me. I will benefit by staying here, he will have money in his pocket and just maybe..... DC will seem attractive and he will not return to Texas.

I've got some air-miles and vacation just depends on the dates, given some notice I can make it. Maybe we should stop at the first "Free-state", prior to entering DC and "stack-arms". Kinda like going in under a white flag. That would definitely draw both raised eye-brows and press attention.

I have also heard that there might be marches on state capitals on the same day for those that can make the trip.

I know that the NRA has been approched about this.

Cost would be a factor but if planned far enough out, and the day is well-planned, it may be doable.

As for press, we need to do our own. Let papers and local media know who/what/when/where. We should also document ourselves, cameras, notes, etc.

I think the RTKBA site is conversing about such an event. It would be prudent for us all to be on the same page.
