That's not "more up-to-date", but rather, a different premise. It's the ten most hateful. The other list was the ten most destructive.

And I consider them destructive, in their own right.

I had a history teacher in high school who was a Marine was on the planning staff for Operation Downfall, the invasion of mainland Japan. As he told it, with the experience the Marines had in the Pacific, they figured that the Marine divisions that went ashore on D-Day would be combat ineffective, which for the Marines at the time meant more than 50% casualties, within 24 hours.

Senator Mark Hatfield of Oregon was on one of the first US ships to enter Tokyo harbor after the war. The Japanese had been instructed to hang a white sheet on every gun emplacement. He stated there were 4x as many gun emplacements as the Navy had figured.
