    To each their own but I have never understood all the time and expense to lose an inch and a half.

    There are so many better options if you want to spend money to make a rifle short.

    Seriously. An inch and a half.

    Well, that little bit makes a big difference on fitting a broke down AR in most widely available large backpacks. You wont need stupid looking racketball bags or the like that are out of place and won't pay alot for special AR bags.

    Besides that barrel length and mid length gas system make a pretty good AR.

    Then there is always the gotta have one of everything requirements.
