I bought the RIA yesterday and out of the box put two 250 rounds through it. It worked perfectly without a problem. This weekend, I will take a before picture. The after picture will be after I put all the old competition stuff on it. Except for the frames, I have enough parts to make two more guns! Hmmm, maybe future projects.

its normally a few months wait for a NHC or WC unless you buy from a place that has em in stock.. which is hard to find.

i plan on having my full size bob'd and add a few STI parts for cosmetics.

    RIA

    MAC79912,

It came that way. I bought it on Gunbrokers ($400). The guy changed out the barrel, trigger, Beavertail Grip Safety, & the wood grip panels. Don't like the sights, although I did shoot pretty good (for me) with them.:)

    Between Tomball & Waller
I was just looking at a RIA 1911 at Tomball Pawn today and I think
It will be my next buy, but I have to sell a an old 1934 model Beretta
that was built during WW2 in 1944 and is a war production finish in .32
cal. It would be a good collectors item.
Oh the RIA was 369.00 + tax .

I just checked out the RIA 1911's and I've fallen in love with the 1911A1-CSPS. Looks like a great choice for a cc pistol. Where are you guys ordering them from?

    My Eclipse Pro Carry II

Shoots great after having it sent in to kimber to have some warranty work done. I am planning on getting and Ultra Carry next. I think Kimber has some Quality Control issues right now but overall I am happy with this one.

I agree, my grip screws show evidence of the poor quality control from the Asian imports Kimber uses.

Two different sizes on the same grip 2.5 mm and 3/32" - WTF

you guys should check out the new sig 1911s, the elite carry and custom shops are nice 1911s, the old guy that used to handle kimber's 1911s is now handling sig's.. so the newer sig 1911s is what kimber USED to be before the decided to start favoring cash flow...

I had the pleasure of firing the new Sig 1911 and must say it was rather nice.
