I'm sitting here marveling over something I picked up today.

    A Remington Model 12 pump action 22 S/L/LR made in 1928.
It has almost all it's original bluing and wood finish. The curved steel butt plate rests perfectly on my shoulder.

What really fascinates me: The machine work and tolerances on this thing are just sublime.

As much as I enjoy my other 22lr rifles, this thing just brings me pleasure.

In the back of my safe is the Winchester Model 90 22WRF that my dad and me and my sons learned gun safety and marksmanship with.

I'm finding a soft spot for pump action 22s.

Anybody else enjoy the classic pleasure?

    Out here by the lake!
Many year back I was handed a 1921 Colt/Thompson to shoot. This gun was pristine to the point of seeing you reflection in the blueing. Spent more time ogling it then shooting it.

We had an older gentleman in church that took me shooting quite a bit when I was a kid. He had a pump 22 that was more fun than anything else. Have no idea the model but have always wanted an older pump.

Looking forward to pics of yours.

I've got a beat up fieldmaster 22 pump that is pure joy to shoot.
It doesn't fuss about ammo either.

Same here, but mine is in pretty good shape. Lots of fun to shoot.

Also recently bought a Beretta ARX 160 .22LR from PSA (on sale for $279). It will get the nod when I'm in the mood to waste ammo faster.

    Middle of no where
    Funny this thread got resurrected.
I recently purchased a Remington model 12 .22 pump with octagon barrel & a Mossberg scope & mount. I had the chance to shot it last night. What a fun rifle to shot & the craftsmanship it pretty cool too. My serial # is 336XXX. I found a thread on another forum were a guy had a serial # 342XXX & his dated back to 1915...so mine is at least that year or a 1914. I haven't looked at the old Remington log yet verify year.
