Most countries have derived from a monarchy, the founding fathers decided that this country (U.S.A.) would be ruled by the people and put in writing (Declaration of Independence and through the Constitution) Americans unalienable rights.

The Bill of Rights was not intended to be what the PEOPLE CAN do, but rather what the GOVERNMENT CAN NOT do to the people. The idea, foreign to every other country at the time, that the rights of the people out weighed the government. That the government, or any one person, did not have the power to convey any rights at all. The courts and government, and those that want bigger government control, have twisted it to mean what they want it to.

Can you explain to me that if the right to bear arm is an unalienable right, why is America, Mexico, and Guatamala the only country that recognizes it as a right?

And what would you say about all other countries in this world that do not "give" this right to their citizens?

Violating a right does not negate the existance of that right.

    Put another way.

I can refuse to recognize the existance of oxygen, but oxygen will still exist.

Most societies around the world are collectivist in nature and don't believe in individual inalienable rights.

I have a hard time understanding why people give up their self ownership, but I have to assume they like it that way

Less decision making and you always have the group to blame instead of taking ownership of bad ideas.

It appears the Kroger conglomerate is no longer gonna sell guns and ammo. I think it is a knee jerk reaction but certainly within their rights unlike WalMart and the s niece of this thread.
