Looking at this SUV for a 2nd vehicle. I'm sold on the look...exterior great....leather interior....very good no tears and has a clean TX title. Just wondering if any place in Longview to get serviced if needed and......how much more cost of repairs....if needed...as compared to say GM or Ford product. Has 3.0 V-6 engine with 79K. Any thoughts??

    Money.
    Really.
    700 here, a grand there.
100 dollar oil change that the locals can't do.

I worked on several and have been thoroughly unimpressed with the plastic content - under the hood. The intakes age terribly and repair costs are high. We had one in and out of a shop I was at a few times for vacuum leaks, there seemed to be a new one just about every time he brought it in. If that they run like that long enough, a cooked catalytic converter will set you back several thousand dollars.

They are a great car to own under warranty, but they will bleed you dry out of warranty. There is a very good reason that out of warranty BMW's are so inexpensive. The X5 is a very responsive SUV even on a track. Too bad they require so much attention.

Guess I've been lucky, had a 94 530, 98 540 and currently a 99 323ic. All have been great cars, the 94 was getting long in the tooth and was coming up with some electrical problems but the other two were and are great.

I will agree that if you can't work on cars yourself that they will probably seem like a money pit, learn to do the work yourself and they are some of the best cars out there or at least have been for me...
