Alan Gottlieb, the president of the Second Amendment Foundation, and his bow tie were everywhere all at once.

This company produces commemoratives that benefit the SAF.

Naturally, Alan was on good terms with them.

The check-in staff did a great job.

Naturally, by the end of the conference the drink service area was pretty well devastated.

Of course, the purpose of the conference wasn't just exposition; it was networking.

Everywhere you looked, there were groups talking. One of them will come up with the next great pro-gun-rights campaign. You just can't predict which one.

Finally, I had to throw this one in. You know how at every gun show there's at least one table where you wonder "Did they get lost? How did they wind up in here?" because they're selling something more than a little out of the mainstream?

Can you guess about those brightly-colored little items on the end of the table? What do you think they are?

    Handmade soap.

    I kid you not.

It was great. Next year will be in Chicago and I'm looking forward to it.

Yes. When various speakers mentioned that in their states, they had "constitutional carry", the entire audience erupted in applause. Clearly, while that may not be on the front burner it's a long-term goal of these folks.

On a more personal note, the guy who runs kniferights.org had heard of you. He even said he had talked to you. Since his focus is purely legislative, he was dismissive of your recent travails. I was less than pleased with his condescending attitude and let have a piece of my mind on the issue. Even if he chooses to fight in a different way, that doesn't make other methods illegitimate; I made sure he knew I (and plenty of others) felt that way.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but, still, I thought you ought to know.

    Thanks!

Ya, we had talked and I'd come to the same conclusion even though the knife rights website seems to indicate they're there to help the individual.
