I could bring a FN 5.7 to test those ballistic panels with. Only have JHP though, not the good stuff

I dont think the 5.7 JHP would have a problem. That's the thing with soft armour being woven, small pointy projectiles with lots of Velocity have no problem penetrating it. Now a slower larger diameter projectile like a .45, 9mm, etc. are too large of a diameter & too blunt of a nose to get through the woven material.

Neighbor has a Kevlar helmet and seems sentimental about it. It's brand new and he never wore in the Army. It's one of those kick backs a soldier wanders off with.

This thing is brand new. It's the first generation of the Kaiser looking helmet. Another expensive government item.

Meeting with my sister's cardiologist went well yesterday. She has some more tests and things could still go to hell but things aren't as urgent as they were previously expected to be. The tests will take place after the reunion, which makes me a strong maybe to attend.
