2018 Shooting/Gun Goals!

This is the thread to post your shooting/gun goals for 2018.

Having defined goals to work toward are a great way to improve your shooting skills and/or build your gun collection.

If you're not sure how to create a set of goals for yourself, speak up and the collective minds of TGT will help you formulate some goals for the year.

So, what are your goals for 2018?

My 2018 shooting goals...

Smallbore silhouette:
- Get into Master class in Hunter Rifle (32 out of 40, three scores)
- Get at least one Master class score in Standard Rifle (34 out of 40)
- Attend/compete in four state/regional matches (TX, LA, two more)

Air Rifle Silhouette:
- Get into Master Class in Target Rifle (32 out of 40, three scores)
- Get at least one Master Class score in Open (34 out of 40)
- Attend/compete in four state/regional matches (TX, LA, two more) as well as Nationals

RFC Off-hand Challenge:
- 25-yard score of 495 (out of 500)
- 50-yard score of 235 (out of 250)

Lastly, attend/compete in at least one 10m air rifle match (Olympic-style with aperture sights).

Make it to the range more.
Participate in an IDPA match.
Take a class to improve my overall skills and awareness as a shooter.

My goal is mainly to refill my safe. Sold a pile to start my company back up and everything so far has gone back into that.

My long term goal is to expand on my 2017 goal. Get more involved in helping new shooters and defending our rights.

I wanna get my crud chrono'd and doped and qualify to go out to the 300y+ sections of the local range.

Get my .58 cal black powder rifle i broke the sear on functional. Step up to a manly rifle cartridge. Find another nice double stack 9mms I like. Colt SAA. Sigh.

1. Finish Saiga .223 conversion
2. Consolidate modern guns based on which calibers I stock
3. Expand milsurp collection
4. Get everything on this list:

• Kriss Vector 9mm
  
• CZ RAMI BD
• AKM of some sort
  
• My first NFA item, a supressor or some sort
• 10 Gauge Single Shot
• Double Stack 1911 in 9mm
• More will be added

Thats about it for right now

Increase the quality of my handloads by further refining my process and getting higher quality components and equipment.

Get a nice scope for the Armalite (carried over from last year)

Increase component stock.


Avoid defunding the first 3 via new firearms purchases

Finish 300 blk sbr build.
Take carbine class & distance shooting class.
Start purchasing equipment for quality handloading, including chrono.
Get to range more.

Saw things that I didn't imagine. Did things I didn't dream.
Thanks to some good friends here.

Open sights to 700 yds. I guess.
Maybe a 45-70 in the arsenal. Finish the range out to 1k.

The 45-70 bug is very addictive. And then once you get it, other things don’t get shot as much.

Get a rock island 1911 in .380 (because America)
