Prices have crept up a bit, but can still get it for $0.04/round at some places online. I just bought a few thousand rounds.

Saw this MrG&G vid, he thinks there’s gonna be a shortage for a while.

    Thoughts?

Production has caught up since the last shortage, and with the soft market/low demand for all things firearms for the last couple of years, .22 should be readily available (has been for a while at quite reasonable prices). Prices will go up due to current circumstances.

Let's face facts: this issue should have already been addressed - .22 is dirt cheap and doesn't take up much room. There has been plenty of time to make it right after lessons learned from our past experiences.

Think about our investments in ammo as precious metals, it's brass and lead instead of gold and silver.

It's past time. Buy it if you can, even if it's a tad more expensive. I bought another 1,000 at Academy today for $0.04 a round. No clue when I'll get more but at least we have enough we can do some plinking.

After they got cheap again this time I stocked up. Stupid expensive before if you could find them. Even then you were limited to a box or two. I have ordered 4 times 5k rounds each time when the kind I wanted was on sale. Plus all the others I have bought from individuals who were getting rid of some. I think I should be good for quite some time. Like someone else said it doesn't take much room to store a huge quantity of the stuff.

I've been stocking up on 22LR for the last 7 years. I don't shoot much rim fire anyway, so for me 8k is probably a life time supply. Most of the 22 ammo I have is Mini Mags, Velocitors, Stingers, and poly coated. Some Aquila Super Xtra and Interceptors. No Golden Bullets, Thunder Bolt, etc.

The last time I shot .22 was in November 2018 when I put 100 rounds through my 10/22 and 3 mags through my Ruger Mark I.

The same people that weren't prepared the last time are the same ones not prepared this time. Guns and ammo have been bargain priced lately and it has been a good time to stock up. But, people got complacent and put it off. Now, they're scrambling to get ammo and guns because they didn't prepare.

You should always have what you need if you can afford it.
