WTB .22lr semi-auto rifle

I am helping a friend try to get a .22lr semi-auto rifle for a varmint problem he has. Preferably a tube fed. Will consider a magazine fed. Looks are secondary to function. Inexpensive is the key. Needs to be something he can put a scope on as well. His eyes ain't what they used to be. He is retired on a fixed income. Will consider anything within about 2 hour drive of Killeen.
We have looked in the places around here and they are either out or insanely high.
If you have something you are willing to part with, it would be appreciated.

Looks like I am closer to three hours from Killeen. If we were closer, I have an old Winchester model 190 that I could let go for $100.
