does anybody know of anybody with a silencer on a .270 caliber rifle? another question, how big can they go with these cans and still be effective? can you just thread the end of an old deer rifle or does it have to be a bull barrel?

I would go with a .30-cal can and have the adaptability. That way you could run it on anything below a .30-06

You will need some meat on the barrel to thread for it, a medium or heavy barrel would probably work, but certainly not a pencil barrel.

You could use a 6.8 can but the 270 will be a lot of powder for it. I think you would best be served with a 30 cal can as well.

A thirty caliber can sounds like the proper plan

I agree with the previous posts regarding using a thirty cal can for the 270. When you puth this can on a rifle you will likely have a shift in Point Of Impact (POI). Plan to dedicate the rifle to this can or having different zeros with the can on and off.

I suspect you will still recieve good suppression results using a 30 cal can with a 270.
