If your thinking why did he use Q-tips?, the last rotary tool I owned burned up.Since i have not replaced it, so while out today I decided to pick up some Flitz liquid polish from ACE.First time using Flitz and I have got to say I like it a lot works very well for just using Q-tips.

It did take about 3hrs to do the SR9C and the Shield but was worth it.So if you don't own any power tools it's easy with Q-tips if you have the time.

Here are some before and after pics.

Give it a shot, I eventually just gave up. Q-tips were still pulling a slight amount of black off the feed ramp but there just about a mirror finish.

    No hand drill?

I buy the cheap felt bore swabs in the gun-cleaning section, chuck them in the drill and use it at LOW SPEED.

This same method worked great on a new Charter Arms .22 WMR Pathfinder that had sticky extraction. Used a couple of .243 bore swabs and lots of flitz to polish all six chambers... extraction was as easy as a .22LR after that.

I have many hand drills and never even thought about it. The barrel in a vise and a drill would make it a much easier task!
