    deemus,

IF I was still in either SC or VA, I could pick up any number of "hats full" of cases for my 760 at the ranges. = the .300SAV seems MUCH more popular there than in TX.

Was given a Savage 99 lever action several years ago. I love to shoot that gun, but cannot bring myself to put a scope on it. I only have about 40 cases for that caliber, and have about half the box shot at this point. Would love to get about 100 cases. I may end up just ordering some new ones.

Don't waste your time on Gunbroker, crazy prices on there.

The once fired ($31 / 50 available commericially is almost as expensive as the new ($35 / 50). The Winchester seems to be a little less expensive.

    deemus,

ImVho, "gunbroker" is OVERPRICED on EVERYTHING. = I can generally buy the same things at full retail at a LGS for less than on GB.

    deemus,

Fwiw, I was GIVEN 18 cases this PM by a NICE guy on another forum. = He said that he MAY have more than 18 & will look for the possible others.

Meh, I'm just going to buy some new cases. Tired of trying to find a reasonable price on already fired cases.

    Vaquero,

At some retailers, empty brass is nearly as much as loaded factory ammo sells for. = I resent paying "scalper's prices" for new brass, when I know that someone has once-fired cases for sale. = It's a matter of finding that person.

    I found some (40ish) on a Facebook reloading page. .26 a case.

Still going to buy some new ones.

    deemus,

    WHICH page??
(I'm too much of a "cheapskate" to buy new cases for my homebrew cast reloads.)

    deemus; All,

Fwiw, I'd still buy another goodly pile of .300SAV cases, especially at that price.

    deemus,

When I was stationed at Ft Indiantown Gap years ago, it seemed like everybody & their dog had pump, LA or BA rifles in .300SAV & during "sighting-in days" before deer season, MANY "once a year" hunters left their brass on the ground, for anyone to claim that wanted to police it up. - Wishing that I had been smart enough to bring more brass back when I returned to VA & then to TX.

    yours, satx
