didnt think the lead core would seperate from the copper jacket

The Amax is a match bullet, not a hunting bullet. I'm not surprised at all that it came apart. Fusing the core to the jacket isn't really a priority for match bullets.

Exactly, A-Max, built for Accuracy and not hunting. Still dont want to get shot with one but there are much better bullets built for hunting and expansion in the Hornady lineup

I was going through my bullet stash and found a few unopened boxes of 155 gr A-Max’s, the 155s have been discontinued .
I guess I bought them in 1998 in Abilene, ha.

So I will be loading them up this week on top of some Ramshot TAC, just because I can.
