    Here is the challenge with .327.
    Currently in production there is the LCR, SP101, and single seven.
    The SP101 has a 4.2" bbl, and is no lightweight.

    The ideal solution would be a 3" SP101 in .327, which Ruger used to make. The prices have gone through the roof recently though.
    Ruger just reintroduced the 3" SP101 in .327 Federal last Fall, but without the blade rear sight. I bought one from Grabagun up in Coppell. They're priced at $499 last I looked:

    I did not read every post, but I'm a fan of the .327. I have an LCR and a single seven in the caliber. With factory full power .327 ammo, the blast and recoil are far greater than a .38 special. I load 32 H&R wadcutters for mine as a utility round when roaming the property. Even factory H&R mag ammo is adequate for self defense. Some will snicker, but I've seen it work on varmints and would feel fine if that's all I had.
