I too carry a P-3AT .380 at times, but I also have the Keltec PF-9 which is a nice small 9mm. I actually prefer to carry the PF-9 in a Kholster at 6'oclock, but sometimes it's easier to carry the P-3AT in a pocket. So I switch em out. I can say, I prefer to have the 9mm on me in general :)

.380 is better than no gun at all
because .380 are on the small side, it will be more comfortable to carry all the time.
just practice alot to make sure your shot placement is dead on.

I nice mag full of .380 hollowpoints will definitely get the job done... plus the added bonus that emptying a couple rounds doesn't really even seem to phase most people's stance of hand placement... double-tapping one handed becomes more possible for the general public with this very likeable round... My lady loves packing my Mustang and I feel totally confident with her taking it because she loves the thin feel of it for purse carry or small of back... But the accuracy you can not beat with a stick... I mean it is a Colt... I used to carry it but now I'm looking for a new one so that we each can have one because lord knows I'm not going to take it off of her... I second what hk boy said ".380 is better than no gun at all"... I just wish the rounds for it were more readily available... oh well... it will be soon...

I have posted this on other forums.

When it comes to defending your life, you must choose the firearm that best suits you.

You should spend significant time find what fits you and your hand the best.

You should find what YOU can shoot the best.

    You must decide the following:

What is the largest caliber I can consistiently group well with the best ammo I can find? This needs to be under stress and time constraint's as well.

    Pawncop's rules of Combat -

    1. A big hole is better than a little hole.

    2. More holes are better than one hole.

Borrowed from my brother in arms Erich (S&W forum) -

    3. Shot placement is King.

    4. Adequate penetration is Queen.

    5. All other issues are angels dancing on the head of a pin.

    6. Practice with your firearm as much as you possibly can.

    7. Finally, (I cannot recall who to credit with this most important advice)

Beware of the man with one gun - - he probably knows how to use it.

I hope this is of some value.
