    I didn't read it as they were teaching the kid.

    But yeah, lots of fail and a tragedy.

    Still, people will insist you can hide a gun from a kid or put it out of reach, or teach them better.

    Teaching may have been the wrong wording.

    The fact that the kid found it is a fail in securing it. The fact that it wasn't taking away from him immediately before answering any questions is a fail on every level.

    Not much info to use to piece together the chain of events.

    Hmmm. My suspicious mind has to call bullshit on this story. I guess ballistics will tell the tale of the trajectory of the bullet.
