I got my 629 load worked up today. About to load up in bulk for the future. 25.6 gr 300-MP under a Zero 240 jsp sized at .431”. I was concerned at the over sized diameter but did a little research and got comfortable with it. 1330 fps at muzzle. If they were .429” they’d be 1400 but I’ll take this grouping over 70 more fps. 100 yard 2 1/2” core group 4” with flyers.

For anything with a short barrel (relatively speaking), let alone a pistol, to group that well is amazing.

That is an absolutely GORGEOUS firearm!! One of the very few revolvers I prefer blued vs stainless. That barrel is stout looking.

I bought that vintage “made in Japan” Tasco off eBay mostly to verify groupings. But I am likely going to keep it on there. Evidently those early Tasco scopes were top notch rivaling the best American and European models. Paid $150 like new with box.

In my experience, most firearms shoot better than me...

For me, there is a lesson in patience to be learned.

Just a running joke with some of the good folks here!

50 yards off hand (1 hand) groups of this size are really common amongst the master and high master shooters with 45’s. A shooter from the AMU shot a perfect 100 (same target) at the Texas State Championship last month. Won $1000 for it.

Personally, I’m not there. 92-96 is what I’m thrilled with offhand at 50.
