Hey Dingo,

Trust me, get a 405 to 425gr WFN going along about 1600fps.......stem to stern penetration..1" hole, clean through.

30" of cow. 6 or 7 milk jugs... 405 @ 1100fps....

The video stated they loaded their 45-70 with Unique which sent me down a 3 hour rabbit hole of searching 45-70 loads with different powders. I now have load charts with Unique, Blue Dot, and Bullseye, all with max charges under 20 grains. Time for a little load testing and money saving.

My 1895CB likes a 405gr pill with 13.7gr UNIVERSAL....About 1-1/4" at 100yds with Skinner Sights.

I am not an expert about this but the Hornady manual talks about the 325gr FTX and the fact that the brass is trimmed to 2.040" and they warn about using exact load data specified in their manual. So the brass you have may be a little questionable reloading unless you use Hornady data and your case trim length is exactly dependent on the bullet used. PM me if needed.
