I'm thinking about one of these just because. Does anybody have any experience with them? I know ammo is expensive but the caliber intrigues me.

What would you like to know? I have one in an 11” SBR suppressed.

That looks really nice. I have ordered an Aero Precision upper reciever and will probably have it built out with a 16" barrel. Haven't got much farther than that with specifics. I have several ARs so I will just use one of my current lowers. I know I don't have a practical need for it, I just want to have it because I can.

Been working with the LGS in development of .458 Socom and .375 Socom in rifle length, SBR's and suppressed forms. The local hunters have been busting piggies with the .458 Socom, too.

You'll get the approximate performance of a 45-70 but in an AR-15 format. It's a real shoulder cannon! No modification is needed to the lower housing or to the magazines.

Using bullets normally used for the 45-70, reloads for the .458 Socom can make reasonably priced (50 cents) rounds. Brass and dies are all available at Midway USA. It's all discussed in the other thread.

Got two of the .458 Socom rifles and I recommend them highly!
