597 magazines

does anybody make an aftermarket magazine for the Remington 597 in 22 mag? factory ones are a pos that hang up all the time. have tried 3 new ones and they always hang up

The factory mags are hit or miss to be sure. I haven't found any aftermarket mags either. It seems like it wouldn't be too tough to machine a superior magazine, but I think the demand for something like that just isn't there.

Mags for the Savage Mark II tend to be garbage as well. It really is a shame. I love both rifles, but the weak links are the mags.

www.keepshooting.com makes 597 magazines for .22LR which are reported to be much better quality than the Remington factory magazines. I don't know if they have or are planning on making 22 Mag versions.

Sold out..... I have 8 factory mags. only problem I've had was stuffing 10 rounds into them.

factory ones are not good at all. wish somebody would make one that will feed shells without jamming up
