I'm on my way home from San Diego and relieved dad of a few guns... (checking into a hotel like Paddock )

One of which is a LWRC Razorback in 6.8 SPC.

Everything I've read so far says it's biggest benefit is a smaller/lighter gun than say 6.5 creedmore. Well, a damn HBAR Piston gun ain't light lol.

I tossed a eotech on it for the heck of it. Seems it's only effective inside of 300y so why not.

What do y'all think or know about it? Obviously it's a keeper and I understand it's not the greatest round ever invented 2744a9efd23b894390bcdcddfe40c771.jpg 5a31692fcbf6bf1d67051db8e260b1bd.jpg

    LWRC Tricon MK6 (it's badass)
    LWRC Razorback
    Colt 1991 talo (178 of 300)

Worth buying a bigger car. Very nice.

If I had gotten a 6.8 SPC years ago I would still shoot it and love it. The round itself isn't bad but seems to be fading off fast. I wouldn't buy one now though unless it was a great deal (or free....).

I think it will always have a niche following but has definitely fallen out of favor.

Get some ammo and shoot it. Get extra ammo or reloading componants too as they may get more difficult to find in the future.

Agreed. load up on ammo and components for that round. Then when you can’t get anymore swap the barrel to a 6.5 Grendel.

I think I would have brought your dad back fro, Ca with you and ALL his guns...

The prob with the 6.8 was it was oversold and it under performed on day 1 with cooked ballistics. Then they improved it and then they improved it again and again by then I and most others lost interest. Yes it should have been a GREAT rd but over hype and underperform just don't mix well.

The problem with the 6.8 (SPC I) was a screw-up by Remington on the SAAMI specs for the chamber. You couldn't get the velocity up of the round up without pressure issues. The SPC II chamber fixed that problem 10 years ago. Nobody sells SPC I 6.8 anymore. All are SPC II. A SPC I can also be reamed to make it a SPC II.

Love my 6.8s. Have around 5. My LWRC piston Six8 is the smoothest AR I own. A 6.8 in DI or piston is perfect for hunting. With 80% of the power of the .308 and none of the weight, what's not to like? If looking for a SBR for hunting, a 6.8 is the best option available.

I'm at discount tire in Tucson right now, praying this 6 month old tire leak is repairable... I'll take a pic when I get home or at the end of the week since I'm heading to work immediately

long story short here's a pic I found last night when my dad first bought it in 2014

had no idea it was a limited run until I googled it the other night.
Will pair well with my original Combat Elite, #33 of 500 30c6567a0467f7fec6244edff9e42fac.jpg
