Thinking about getting a 6.8 upper for my AR. Who makes a good quality upper? Do they come complete and ready to fire?

Here's about the cheapest with quality I could find... If you currently have an AR-15, all you should have to do is remove the upper and put this one on. Plus, need to change the magazine... I hear you can modify a .223/5.56 and it will work, but to me it's not worth it.

That looks like the way to go. Thanks! I agree with modifying the 556 mags, I do think that is a good idea. For the price of real 6.5 I will just get a few of those.

    Clay,

I have been doing a serious buttload of research on 6.8 rifles...in the process of building one. http://www.ar15performance.com/ ...this guy is building top-notch stuff at reasonable prices. He has done a ton of work developing his uppers (the right chamber dimensions and 1 in 11.25 twist barrels). I'm ordering my upper from him tomorrow. E-mail me at peterichard@peoplepc.com if you want more info.
