    Tragic.

Doesn’t sound like the sibling that bought the gun was 18.

The parents are responsible. Why did he have access to a gun at his age?

    From the article...

"An older teen in the home told authorities that he purchased the .22-caliber rifle. The parents told officers that they did not know that there was a firearm in the home, Dallas News reports."

Admittedly, I didn't read it close enough but, It's still on the parents. They are the adults, it's their children, it's the parent's responsibilities to know what their children do and what comes in and out of their home. Tragic as is was, the parents hold the final responsibility.

I didn't grow up around a bunch of firearms. All my training came from BB gun use. It all applies...

My Dad kept a 30-06 and .22 up on the top shelf of the closet. I remember sneaking up there and looking at it from time to time. Kids are inquisitive, you hide it, they wanna know. If you expose them to them, they don't mess with them other than when its time to shoot or hunt.

I said it once, i'll say it again. Take them hunting and let them see the damage.
