7.62x39 AR

I bought a complete RRA lower this past weekend, and subsequently came across a deal on a new 7.62x39 upper that is just too good to pass up, i.e., free from a friend. Whereas my original plan was to build a 6.8spc on this lower at some point in the future, I'm toying with the idea of using the 7.62x39 upper in the interim. This will be my first "build", so can anyone tell me what I am in for? Should I expect the upper and lower to go together without any fuss? Is there a source for 7.62x39 AR mags that someone can point me to? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

There is finally a source of good AR mags in 7.62X39, forget the name off hand, but not hard to find if you use the google.

Other than that, only advice I have for you has to do with shooting subsonic 7.62 out of the AR........

C Products has them... Never bought any x39 but have a bunch of their AR .223 mags and they work flawlessly... Here's a link: C Products Store

A buddy of mine had one. He shot about 1k rounds thru it and sold it. I think his main issue was that he complained about the extra cleaning he had to do compared to his .223
