7.62x54r Cheap? NOT FMJ?

So if I buy a Mosin-Nagant, what ammo can I buy cheap and shoot at ranges that are no FMJ?

You can buy non-FMJ 7.62x54R ammo, but it's not going to be cheap are at least anywhere near what milsurp costs!

Prvi Partizan makes good non-FMJ ammo for 7.62x54R, but it is very expensive and is probably only worth having around for hunting.

Brown Bear makes some softpoint ammo, available here. Sellier and Bellot does as well.

You'd be better off finding another range to shoot at!

Thanks! That's not terrible and I dont plan on shooting it a ton. Wish Top Gun was closer. Any difference between brown bear and silver bear?

Silver bear uses zinc plating on the cartridge case, Brown Bear features lacquered steel cases...
