Oh ya, I still have an old PC I bought from a shop in Plano (that never ran right unless I only have 4 Mb of RAM in it) back in the early 90's. I bough it thee to save a bunch of money and though at $2200 I was doing great since it would have been $3500+ from a major.
I also remember buying my first big HDD. A 220 MB drive. I also still have a 40MB MFM drive. It's so big I could use is as a stern anchor for my boat.
8088 series processor. It sure wasn't 8088 mhz! Probably about 4 mhz.
My first PC (actually, it was a family PC) was an 80286 processor with variable clock rate: 8 or 12 mhz. The VGA monitor was really sweet! So was the day we got a 2400 baud modem!
First computer was a Commodore 64/128. Can't remember the price, still have it actually. Also have a 1986 Macintosh computer with 9" B/W monitor 120MB HDD can't remember the price paid for it either.
