    Chris Paddie has refiled another bill for Open Carry

    it removes the provision for a level-2 retention holster.

    Texas Legislature Online - 83(R) History for HB 1194

    SECTION 17. Section 411.171, Government Code, is amended by
    adding Subdivision (8) to read as follows:
    (8)"Unconcealed handgun" means a loaded or unloaded
    handgun carried upon the person:
    (A)in a shoulder or belt holster that is wholly
    or partially visible; or
    (B)in a scabbard or case designed for carrying
    firearms that is wholly or partially visible.

    Well crap. I was going to use the level 2 requirement to get a GLOCK 26 - for which there are many good retention holster set-ups. Now I'll have to come up with a new excuse.

    In reality - this bill is a good thing. The level 2 requirement would have added too much confusion.

    I'm lubing up my typing fingers. We need to get behind this!!!! Contact EVERYONE!!!!!!

    I'll be interested to see the NRA stance. They have committed to push open carry in Texas.
