We had a Malinois which wouldn't allow anybody to hit anybody.
Whoever was the aggressor, she would stop it quick.
The kids would go into the bathroom or bedroom if they wanted to fight with each other.

Pit bulls can be as gentle as any other dog. Ever watch the dog whisperer. He has an entire pack of well behaved ones. My daughter has a female and she is the sweetest most loving dog. Proper discipline is required for all dogs so they can be happy and be dogs.

Yep.
My GF and the dog will be outside, and somebody walks down the street.
The dog starts barking, my GF yells at her and she doesn't stop.
All I have to do is open the door...

Let's face it, some breeds are more prone to go rogue than others. Doesn't mean every dog of that breed is bad, but the probability is higher.
