I haven't had a 9mm forever but have been looking at them again. While searching I have been looking at ammo at the same time. I used to buy 9mm WWB for less than $5 a 50rd box and it always ran so well through my Berettas I know the prices have really gone up but so have the choices in 9mm.

What are some good 9mm range ammo choices these days and what should I expect to pay?

Federal is best fmj imo. Freedom munitions and wwb are the exact same thing in my experience, both are dirty, and kinda weak.

    Gunz are icky.
I think WWB 9mm is okay.
Like any bulk ammo it is loaded a tad lighter than it should be.
I shoot it all the time in my 9mm's. Everything functions fine.
The Federal from WM is slightly better IMO.
The only 9mm I'll say to avoid altogether is Monarch brand from Academy. It gives me trouble in most all my semi-auto 9's.
Saw some earlier today at WM for $26.37 a 100rd box.

Cheapest you can find. Just make sure to do a little practice with whatever HD/SD ammo you plan to carry. I used to be so concerned about practicing with the same grain ammo I carry. My firearms instructor gave me the above advice. I've never felt more comfortable with my handgun shooting than I do now.

I've had no problem running WWB through my SIG Pro 2022. And I've had decent accuracy on the range with it.

Same here. My Sig and my Glock both like the WWB stuff. Its a good round for targets. I do carry some HP's when I CC carry those guns.

WWB is the "gold standard" for range ammo -- no matter caliber.

When you can find it, WWB 115 grain FMJ 9mm has jumped in price from $19.97 to $26.97 + tax in just one year.

It is a very good round for most 9mm, but my Walther PPS prefers 124 grain bullets, which are not to be found at any price point locally.

I found this out quickly when I first started shooting handguns. Now that it has been 25 years I still try to follow the same tried and tested ammo through all of my handguns.

I've always liked the Federal better than the WWB. I only shoot WWB when I can't find Federal.
Wallyworld Federal used to be about 2.00 cheaper than WWB too....cleaner , accurate, and hotter. I don't know how much it is now.

Brass Maxx isn't too bad either.

I buy the WWB 50 and 100 ct boxes. Never had an issue with the 50 rd boxes. But about 10% of my rounds from my 100 ct boxes of 9mm cause FTE's with my M&P9. For it just being goof off range ammo, 10% isn't enough to drive me away.
