Hey, I have a few quick reds gun range questions for those of you that frequent there.

    1. Do they have any rules against using dummy rounds?
    2. Do they allow you to bring your own targets?
    3. Do they have any restrictions on the type of ammo you can shoot?

I didn't see the range rules anywhere on the website so I was hoping someone here might now.

1.) Snap Caps, Inert Round, Blanks, etc. are cool.
2.) If they are bulls-eye style, no people / critter targets (B27 are allowed).
3.) No .50 BMG / .416 Barrett, No Shotshells, and No Tracers / API / AP / etc.

2.) ...no people / critter targets
Are zombies considered people and/or critters?

Thanks for the info, just what I was looking for.

I have been shooting at reds north recently. I have read lots of complaints about the staff but I have never had any. Everyone has always been helpful.

The customers can be a little scary sometimes though.

Likely because there would be caricatures of unpopular faces on targets, and politics & religion have caused many a black eye, nose punches, and even shots fired in anger....Heaven forbid a picture of you know who centered in a target.....The gestapo would have the owner in the electric chair for 99 years !

    I prefer the South location.

Friendlier staff AND you can shoot both your pistol and rifle in the same lane.

We frequent Red's (North) for range practice quite often...

NEVER had a bad experience or bad service. The staff has been friendly and courteous on all of our visits.

It just depends on the people that you get at the North location... I went there twice in a row and got treated unpleasantly... Once I was looking for a Hogue grip and the second time I was planning on buying a new ccw (didn't because of the way I was spoken too)... It just goes back to the way people are brought up and how they think of themselves in the world. I have had numerous pleasant experiences out at Eagle Peak but there is one RO that is out there to ruin everyone's day and each time I have a negative encounter with him I make sure that I let one of the others know that he's ruining my experience... had the same situation happy once at Garland public range and made sure on my next visit that it was noted that I didn't give a s*!# if the Cowgirls were playing there needed to be RO's out and paying attention when it is crowded. No use in people getting hurt over a 1-5 team...

Sid and texas_teacher, I am a manager at the Red's North location. If you received a negative experience, please let me know about it. Post it here or PM me so I can address any issues.
