I am gathering the parts for a quality SBR build, but lack tools needed completely assemble it.
Who are some of the quality rifle builders in town, preferably on the Southwest or West part of town. I am willing to drive a bit though.

For west, I've had good experience with Katy Gun Gear. They'll sit there and help you build it yourself if you want. Or you can bring the parts and leave it to them

I've seen the end results of some of the Texian builds, they're on Westheimer just west of Hwy 6. I have no idea what their costs are like though.

This. Justin will do you right, and if you are supplying the parts I bet he won't break it off in you. He's a good guy.

Got may my stamp in the mail this weekend. Time to build this thing, I have all my parts.
Just wanted to touch base with the community again. I have been away for away.
    Anymore recommendations?

Wife lost her job days after getting my stamp. She is now employed, and I am looking to get this built out.
    Any new suggestions?

What tools do you think you need?

What rail are you using? Does it use GI barrel nut and you need that wrench? A lot of rails don't require anything special to tighten the barrel nut.

Are you building a carbine? A basic (read cheap) AR tool will accomplish tightening the castle nut.

Aside from that you can use basic hand tools to build the whole thing. Do they work as well as specialized tools? No, but it still can be done pretty easily. I built several that way before buying a few specialized tools.

I have asked around. For a set of good specific tools, to build quality torqued to spec everything. It would cost me a few hundred dollars.
That is more than I am willing to spend for only one AR build. If I get get the itch to build more I will dedicate the time to acquire the needed tools.
It is good to gain the practical knowledge of truly understanding how parts come together to make a weapon. Super great for understanding how to fix problems that pop up later as well.
Short story, I want to get this thing together and tuned in the next few weeks. Time is at to much of premium for me to not spend it at work, or shooting.
