I got about a 5 hour late start to go hunting and I headed to one of my properties where I hoped to have the some success. I arrived, spied some hogs about 700 yards away, and headed after them. Originally, there were 6, but only 5 remained by the time I got into shooting position.

Aside from the one hog disappearing, things could not have gone much better. Every shot connected. All 5 hogs went down. Only one hog needed to be reshot.

Usually, I am not a One and Done kind of guy, but I figured my night couldn't get much better and went ahead and went home happy.

That is my ancient (6 years old) IR Defense (bought out by Trijicon, years ago) IR Hunter MKIII 4.5x 640 resolution thermal sight. At the time I purchased it, it was about the best thing going in the thermal optic market. Today, not so much. They listed for about $9k. Today, you can find thermal with a bit less magnification but better thermal sensitivity and the same resolution for less than $5K.
