    Is when it takes 10 patches to clean the extractor tunnel on your 1911.

    Took two to the range today and burned a bunch of ammo. Almost two hours to get them cleaned and lubed again.

    As much as I love the 1911 it's not the easiest machine to get clean.

    Good day indeed. Here's a helpful hint: To make the 1911 look easy to clean, try breaking down & cleaning a Ruger Mk 1 first.

    I normally run either a .17 or .22 brush through the extractor tunnel then blast the loosened crud out with brake cleaner. Works like a charm
