I just bought a 1980 CJ7 Golden Eagle.
One owner. 48,000 miles.

Sad though.
A lifelong friend died. His son sold it to me.
My friend......It was a present from his wife.

100% original. As delivered from AMC October 1979, unmolested.

I’ll treasure it and keep it all original.

It’s like getting a treasured firearm heirloom as a present.
It’s not about the monetary value. I’ve already been offered 2-3x what i paid.

I’ll keep it just to cruise the hill country quite early on Sunday mornings. My personal form of Texan prayer, eh?

I grew up driving a 1973 AMC CJ5 my dad bought us (his 3 sons) to trek around his Kerrville ranch.

Sorry to hear of your loss, but what a wonderful legacy to leave a friend! I am sure you will think of him during your adventures into the Hill Country. Jeeps are the perfect vehicles to explore it, we just did Willow City Loop in ours a few weekends back. Couldn't ask for a better way to spend the day with the family...
