I have been wanting to add a Winchester Model 1895 for quite some time. I wanted one in a useable caliber in decent condition. I looked at quite a few and most are in some caliber that I didn't want or were really well used or abused. Nice ones can be pricey so I just kept looking. Then this little lady caught my eye and love was in the air!. Not a bad looking piece made in 1921 with a spotless bore and clean finish. A little faded but that is just character. And it is a .30-06. I just had to figure a way to bring it home. Well my 33rd wedding anniversary was coming up so I thought I would get it for my wife to give to me. I knew she would be thrilled with the idea, so I bought it.

I am very fortunate that my wife actually likes guns. She a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer and a pretty good shot in her own right. She has her own guns and takes good care of them. Of course she can use any of mine but she prefers her handgun of choice and a WW2 Trench gun.

Thanks for the replies. No need to be jealous, I just like to share with others of like mind.
This has been a lifelong obsession with few exceptions. I have no children so it is just me and my wife. I have a few relatives that rarely if ever talk to me. Some are concerned about where my collections is headed when I leave for that range in the sky. Outside of a couple family heirlooms they will be very disappointed. Turn about IS fair play, ignore me now gives me the right to ignore you later?

Very nice. Enjoy shooting it. Hope you have 30-06 ammo already, darned stuff was not totally absent from gun show in Texarkana but was very hard to find and sold out quickly from what buyers told me.

A recently retired Old Navy Chief went in for a new job interview…

Personnel Manager: "What is your greatest weakness ?"

    Old Navy Chief: "Honesty.

Personnel Manager: “I don’t think honesty is a weakness.”

Old Navy Chief: “I don’t really give a shit what you think.”
