It might be worth it to thread the barrel and attach the smallest, shortest, lightest .45ACP suppressor you can find. I REALLY like the whole idea of your tinkering on this weapon. Good job!
Where I live, any suppressor will get you to lose all of your guns, a stint in the jail and a fine that will cover the national debt!

That 45 rifle is just too cool.

I went an easier route and got a Ruger 77/44 threaded.
.44 Special out of it is a lot like your ACP?

I love suppressed pistol caliber carbines in general.

A pleasure to shoot and great for varmints out to 100 yards or so.

I'm not often one for lasers but the Viridian on my 9mm carbine is a guest-pleaser.
Can't have suppressors here in the People's Gulag (Illinois) Even a threaded barrel can raise eyebrows.

Ah yes--Hellinois. :shakinghead: It's a darn shame that a collector such as yourself is forced to limit the scope of his/her collection in such fashion.

I not so affectionately call it "The People's Republic formerly know as Illinois" The California without a sea shore. I have the option should I need to make a quick escape. I have museum colleagues that will bury my collection in a museum vault in Wisconsin. The museum has a truck and it can be had on a phone call. Might take some work but hopefully can do it in one trip. Important stuff first. I do not think they would want to confiscate bona-fide antique pieces but the Commies here are pretty ignorant. I definitely would have to get the cannon out of my living room and the belt fed Browning's out quickly. john

    MJ,

You sir are quite the artist.

Just looking at your rifle creation gladdens me old ticker.......
Well ... I have been accused of being an artist but I think it is due to the fact that I can draw flies!
I just do what is do. My museum benefactors love my resurrections. I have brought back "the dead" from junk heaps.
Before and after pictures some time. John

Hmmmmm. One of those in 9mm that would use my 1911 mags would be very intriging indeed.
    Very nice work.

Doing this in 9mm would create the problem of a different bolt face to accomodate the cartridge base. Could be done. I just had an old 8mm action laying around and .45acp fit. John
