I dont see how it matters either way. What is considered a hoarder? In what world are you only allowed to have a lot of ammo if you shoot a lot of ammo. My rule is a 1k rd reserve. For the highlights, I have about 5k rds of 9mm & 556, 20k of .22, a few k of 7.62x39 and then a few thousand assorted other rounds. I probably shoot more in a range trip than most people shoot in a year.

Stopped into the Kirby location on my way to work. They had quite a bit, mostly rifle. I grabbed 2 boxes of 6.5 Creedmoor. If you’re looking for 6.5 Grendel, they must have had close to 50 boxes stacked up!

Frisco location had quite a bit of ammo today. Didn't see anything I couldn't live without.

Well shoot, is there particular days better than others to check there? Closest Academy is like about 1.5 hour drive. Going to see the doc for a minor procedure (yay) monday morning, thought could check on the way back as it is on that route.

Depends on truck days. The 2 by my place usually get trucks Monday, Thursday, and Friday, but it can change week to week they said. I just asked one day and they told me. And they also said just because they get a truck doesn’t mean there will be ammo on it. I was told about 90% of the trucks do. If I am up (I work nights so I’m usually fast asleep at 9am when they open) I will try to get there a little after 9. I am not willing to wait in line for anything! I am usually able to get 2 boxes of what I want if it was on the truck. I saw what they were asking for 6.5 CM ammo on gunbroker the other day. $60-$100 a box. I can get it for $20 (hunting ammo)-$40 (match grade) at Academy. Only downside is, I have 2-4 boxes of 6 different brands and weights of each caliber. Gonna start seeing what my rifle likes, and I may just sell or trade off what I don’t need on here. I am not looking to make money, so I’d just sell it for what I paid.

Every time I’ve been to Academy in the past 2 weeks they had ammo. Always 308 and 7 mag and 556 and 22. Usually a few others too.
